Bayern Munich will have to do without their midfielder Kingsley Coman in the coming few weeks, the runaway Bundesliga leaders confirmed in an official statement via the club's official homepage.
The French international suffered an ankle injury in Bayern's goalless draw against midtable team Hertha Berlin on Saturday, and had to undergo a surgery on Monday. Hence, the 21-year-old midfielder will be out of action for "several weeks", reports Xinhua news agency.
The absence of Coman is a setback for the "Bavarians" who will have to rely on veterans Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben for the upcoming encounters in the Bundesliga, German Cup and UEFA Champions League.
Coman joined the German record champions from Italian outfit Juventus Turin in the summer 2015 to provide eleven assists and nine goals in 63 Bundesliga clashes.
Bayern Munich sit currently atop the Bundesliga standings with a 19-point advantage to runner up Borussia Dortmund with ten rounds to spare.
