At the AGM, all items were passed without any debate as members willingly proposed and seconded minutes of the previous AGM besides approving the annual report and audited statement of accounts. A total of 245 members cast their votes via secret ballot, of which, 20 votes were invalid. For the President's post, Fr Rodrigues garnered 139 votes, while his rival Sharma got 94 votes, losing by a margin of 45 votes.
Reacting to his win, an elated Fr Rodrigues said, "It's a good victory for me and my entire team. I'm relieved because the opposition party had some political backing and some ulterior motives."
Fr Rodrigues said his aim is to create a sports complex. "The grounds we use today are government owned. So, we have purchased a plot of land in Manori where we are planning MSSA's very own multi sports complex," he added.
