Pop superstar Shakira and her Barcelona footballer Gerard Pique have finally landed her dream home in Barcelona, Spain for less than half the original asking price

Los Angeles: Pop superstar Shakira has finally landed her dream home in Barcelona, Spain for less than half the original asking price.

The 'Waka Waka' hit-maker and her football star partner, Gerard Pique, first expressed an interest in purchasing the property on Avenida de Pearson in 2014, but they were not happy with the USD 11.9 million price tag and passed on the pad, reported Fox News.

However, the house reportedly failed to sell and in May, Shakira and Pique made another attempt to buy the mansion for around USD 5.4 million and that offer was accepted.

The couple has been working on renovations on the property ever since. Pique won't be the only Barcelona FC star in the neighbourhood when he and his family eventually move in - his Brazilian teammate, Neymar, also lives in the area.
