Under-7 swimmer wins individual championship at YMCA meet

On a record-breaking day, Apurva Sharma of KETVG Vale College bagged five gold breaking three new meet records to as he emerged the boys' under-17 individual champion.
Records broken
Sharma was the toast of the competition when he set new marks in the 100m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 200m individual medley. In the process he erased a 23-year-old record in the 100m freestyle and a 24-year-old mark in the 100m butterfly.
Balmohan Vidyamandir's Kimaya Kajrolkar, who bagged three gold medals on the opening day, announced her arrival on the circuit as the girls' under-7 individual champion with a tally of 18 points.
Rayna bags U-9 title
Rayna Saldanha, who bagged four gold on the first day including a new meet record, was named the girls under-9 individual champion with 20 points. Girls' under-13 individual champion Aakansha Vora of Cathedral & John Connon won four gold setting new meet records in the 100m freestyle and 100m breaststroke. The 100m breaststroke was a 13-year-old mark set by Tejaswi Shetty.
