Bandh does not affect BMC employees

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) staff did not responded to Bharat Bandh as most employees reported to work

About 40 per cent employees reported to work at 11 am while the attendance went over 50 per cent by 1 pm at the BMC office in Mumbai. u00a0

There was no complaint about disruption of water supply, fire brigade, hospital or conservancy services. Attendance of the ward level staff is awaited but over 50 per cent of staff in the head quarter are present. u00a0

The BMC commissioner Sitaram Kunte however warned a day before by issuing circular to every department and 24 wards in the city saying that no employee should participate in Bharat Bandh. “The municipal employees participating in the Bandh should not be granted any leave like casual leave, earned leave or any other leave,” said Kunte. u00a0u00a0

All assistant municipal commissioner deputy municipal commissioners including other superior staff were reported over 90 per cent. While clerical staffs were present over 50 per cent.
