After letting his hair down at a late-night party with his wife, 35-year-old Lisbon Miranda returned home and stabbed her to death following a squabble.
Cops say the Bollywood coiffeur gored the victim six times at their DN Nagar flat yesterday morning. That wasn’t the end of the drama. When police reached the apartment, Lisbon threatened them saying that he had opened the gas knob, and would blow the place up if anyone tried to enter. Fire brigade officials who were called to the spot, however, opened the door with a master key, which led to cops arresting the accused.

Police are now questioning Lisbon to find out his motive in committing the gruesome act, but the accused is allegedly not cooperating. Bindya Miranda (35) and Lisbon were married for five years, and were residents of Neelganga Apartments, DN Nagar. The couple have a three-year-old daughter who is now being looked after family members.
According to cops, Bindya was at her parents’ house on Thursday evening, and at around 10 pm Lisbon invited her over to a friend’s place where a party was being held. Bindya reached the bash with her sister and daughter in tow. At around 2 am, the family left the party in a car. After getting down at their residence, the couple headed straight for their fourth floor flat, leaving their daughter behind with Bindya’s sister.
After a few minutes, loud voices emanated from the flat, hearing which Bindya’s sister rushed towards the apartment. But her repeated knocks on the door were not heeded. Sensing the couple were in a major fight, she ran back down to get help. After failing to find anyone on the road, she saw a pub that was open and approached the staff. After she had pleaded for assistance, the manager accompanied her to the local police station. Cops quickly rushed to the flat and demanded the door be opened. But Lisbon threatened them, saying he would blow the place up. Alarmed by the threat, cops called the fire brigade, who managed to open the door. As cops entered the flat, they saw blood all over the place. Lisbon was sitting in the bedroom while his wife lay on the floor in a pool of blood. She was rushed to Cooper Hospital, but pronounced dead before admission.
“We have recovered the knife used in the murder. The deceased was first stabbed in the kitchen and then dragged to the bedroom. Lisbon is showing no signs of remorse and is not cooperating with us,” said Vijay Bhoite, senior police inspector from DN Nagar. “The accused is charged with murder and was presented at an Andheri court where he was remanded to police custody till June 2,” he added. According to the police statement, Lisbon works as hairstylist for many film stars, and personally visits many of them. Bindya was a homemaker.u00a0
