Banned from entering Mangalore, Sri Ram Sene chief says the party will have to pay for it in the elections

Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Mutalik has decided to campaign against the BJP after the Dakshin Kannada district deputy commissioner banned him from entering Mangalore for a year.

"The BJP exploits Hindutva to get Hindu votes but never fulfils anything after coming to power. They are using Hindutva for selfish means. They will realise this only when the Hindus refuse to vote for them. They deserve to be defeated in the Lok Sabha elections. The Congress had banned my entry in some towns 17 times and they have lost elections. The BJP too has to face the same," he told MiD DAY.

He said the BJP kept harping on the Datta Peetha issue in Karnataka. "The BJP is in power in the state but has
done nothing for the Datta Peetha. They spoke of it only before elections and then forgot all about it," he said.

If Mutalik does not want people to vote for BJP, does he want them to vote for the Congress? "No. We will present the ills of the BJP. Let them then decide," he said.

Mutalik plans to campaign against the BJP through rallies handbills and posters.

"Besides this, we have prepared a 12-point programme. The points will include my banishment from Mangalore.

We will ask people to read them and then decide who they want to vote for," he said. The 12 points include death sentence for Afzal Guru, a policy to control Muslim population and a policy to check corruption.
