The septuagenarian says her son is harassing her and his sister for property; the accused alleges his divorcee sister wants to grab the house

In a shocking incident in Shahpur Jat area of south Delhi, a 70-year-old woman has alleged she has been thrashed and threatened by her son, who owns a weekly magazine in Delhi. According to the complainant, Krishna Devi, police have not taken any action in this regard despite several complaints.

She claimed the incident took place on October 9, when her son Naveen Kumar came to her room and beat her up. Apparently, Krishna's daughter Sarita had complained about Naveen's wife Sanjita at the Hauz Khas police station in some regard. Enraged at this, Naveen first attacked his sister and then his own mother.

'He tried to kill me'
"The day after Sarita lodged the complaint, Naveen came to my room, harassed me, and tried to kill me. He opened a gas pipe and when I tried to stop him, he started beating me. His wife Sanjita was also there to support him," alleged Krishna.

The victim further alleged that her son banged her head on the wall, injuring her severely, and when she fainted, he escaped from the spot. "When I came to my senses, I made a PCR call and the police immediately rushed me to the Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Centre. He often beats me and my daughter and is harassing us for the property," alleged Krishna.

She said she has complained about this at the Hauz Khas police station many times but no action has been taken. Sarita, Krishna's elder daughter, said, "He wants to grab our father's property. When we resisted his attempts, he started harassing us and threatened us of dire consequences."

The other side
Naveen, Krishna's son, said, "All allegations regarding the incident are false. I never hit my mother. Actually, it is a case of property dispute between me and my sister Sarita. She is a divorcee and residing in my house. She wants me to leave the house. When I didn't, she registered a false complaint regarding domestic violence at the Hauz Khas police station. The property dispute case is being heard in Tis Hazari court at present."
